Here is where you can learn a little more about Excessive Industries, LLC and the owner of the company, David Lawson.
I started Excessive back in 2015, though I have over 15 years of experience in the off road industry. I started fabricating with my father when I was 13 years old. Ever since I can remember, my father was in the garage (shop in the most recent years) building off road cars and trucks. Once I turned 13, I started working summers and every other school break I could at the shop learning the ways of the industry, building chassis and suspension. My father's shop at its time was one of the top in the industry, building everything from sand cars and pre-runners to class 1 cars and trophy trucks. He sent his cars all over the world whether it was to compete or just to go out and have a good time. While I was growing up, he also did a lot of off road racing himself. As you could imagine this was the perfect learning environment to grow up in. I'm also sure you can now understand where my love for high speed desert racing comes from.
My love for Jeeps started in 2013 when my father bought a couple of YJ's for us to go play around in. It was at this time I discovered what rock crawling was all about and just couldn't get enough of it. I had that YJ for a little less than a year before selling it to my father in law. I then went and picked up a 2007 JK Rubicon. This thing at the time was the perfect Jeep, the Jeep I never thought I would own. Over time I started messing with it, building new bumpers and a roof rack along with a few other small things here and there. That's when Excessive started.
By the end of 2014, my wife Ashley had been bitten by the Jeep bug as well. It was then we bought the 4 door JKU you all know now (Excessive JK). Yes, it was hers. I kind of took it over soon after the purchase and needless to say, its gotten a little out of hand and has yet again, become a Jeep I never thought I would own. At this point I started spending a lot more time on Excessive. It became an official LLC in early 2015 and that really got the ball rolling.
Through the years of hard work and dedication, I've managed to grow the company to what it is now. Sure its not much compared to all
the big dogs out there. But I'm proud of it and happy to say I would put my products up against their's any day of the week. I've taken the company from my fathers shop after hours, to full time and in the garage at home and for the last couple years into the shop I'm in now. It definitely has not been easy and there has been plenty of hard times that we have managed to make it through, but at the end of the day it is all worth it to be doing what I love.
I'm proud to say Excessive Industries now offers everything from bumpers to serious race spec suspension and will continue to develop new products for the ever growing and evolving Jeep and off road industry. All of Excessive's products are designed and manufactured right here in the USA by myself. Currently I do it all, but I am hopeful to be expanding Excessive Industries once again in the near future.
Whatever you like to call it, Jeeping, Wheeling or Rock Crawling, its more than just a job for me. Its a passion, hobby and lifestyle. I do my best to show this in my products and business.
