Jeep JK and JKU Front Coilover Shock Tower Kit
Our shock towers for your Jeep JK and JKU are the strongest on the market. They're built from 3/16" high strength steel plate, precision cut, bent and welded to achieve ultimate strength and a beautiful design. This kit includes driver and passenger shock towers, fuse box relocation bracket, ABS relocation bracket, lower shock mounts and a shock tower cross member.
These shock towers are designed to run a 2.0, 2.5 or 3.0 x 14" coilover shock. We spent countless hours designing these towers to keep your Jeeps ride height as low as possible while maximizing the suspensions up travel. Typically when compared to other Jeeps built in a similar manor, our set up can sit 2-3 inches lower on the over all ride height while still having the same amount of up travel. This means you can set your Jeep up lower, without compromising handling performance through rougher, faster terrain.
To achieve all of this, we had to move a few things around under the hood. But don't worry, we've included everything you need to make it as simple as possible. First, the battery must be relocated. This is no big deal, and with a few supplies can be done quickly and easily. Next is the fuse box. Pop a few clips, turn and rotate the fuse box into position and clip it back into place on our included fuse box relocation bracket. This bracket is a direct bolt on and requires no modifications to the fuse box or wiring harness. Third, the intake needs to be shortened up to make room for the fuse box. Most intakes can easily be cut down to accomplish this. After that, all that's left is the ABS module. Again, pop a few clips, take out 3 small bolts, rotate the module up and remount it on our bolt on ABS relocation bracket.
To make installation of the towers easy and add strength and durability to the kit, we used doubler plates on the chassis where the shock towers mount. These doubler's distribute forces applied to the chassis from the suspension over a larger surface area. This makes for a much stronger mounting point as well as helping to prevent cracks from forming years down the road. These plates also include alignment holes that match up to existing factory holes on the chassis for easy and precise installation.
We've also included a removable shock tower cross member to keep the shock towers stable under harsh conditions.
If your running 40's, you'll want a minimum of 72" WMS to WMS on your axle. 37's should be on a 69" wide axle. We have not test fitted these towers with factory width axles yet.
14" coilovers will out travel the angle that your front driveshaft will accommodate. There are a couple ways to resolve this problem. The first is the easiest, and least expensive. Limit Straps. Find the happy spot with the most wheel travel where the driveshaft can still spin freely and strap it up an inch above that. (the inch is to allow for the strap to stretch over time) Second is to order an axle with a 15 degree caster/pinion split or have the C's on your current housing rotated by a professional. This caster split paired with a 2 piece driveshaft will allow you to get the most out of your kit.
No, you can not run 12" coil overs with these towers. your axle will take out everything above it.
Pair this kit with our Rear Coilover Shock Tower Kit, Front Long Arm Kit and Rear Long Arm Kit for the ultimate suspension system!!
